If you're going to purchase a cordless tool, then you should really think about getting one with Lithium ion batteries. They cost more, and it's easy to think you could just buy a cheaper model and get a spare battery, but it's not the same. Lithium ion batteries are a true hassle free solution.



Obviously ICE are powered by kobalt abbau the gasoline you buy when you fill up at a gas station. The electric motor/generator is powered by a large (and by large, I mean large and heavy) battery pack. Most hybrids on the road today have large Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery packs somewhere near the trunk, or under the seats. (Read about the Lexus Hybrid battery pack).

Nonetheless, the Volt is not something in GM's immediate plans. The idea for the Volt would require that a cost efficient 400-lb lithium-ion battery be found. lithium facts-ion batteries of this size are not currently available. Further advances in battery technology would be required to allow GM to consider making the Volt a production car. These are enhancements that could occur in as little as a year, or as many as 20 years. GM has stated that they feel the technology is almost there, yet a vehicle like this is probably about a decade away.

This can be a problem for where the battery is not used that often but is can be important when it is needed for emergencies such as power outages. As the battery does not store well over extended amounts of time, it is possible that when they are needed they will not be usable. But for things that are used and recharged on a regular basis such as for portable electrical equipment, they are very good. But there is not always a slowing amount of capacity when they are getting old and it is possible for them to just not work without any reason being obvious.

Li-ion cells have a good peak output current and low source resistance. When you overload the tool, the voltage stays up, and they just keep pumping current into the motor. Power tools have thermal overload trips in the motors, and that's a good thing with Li-ion batteries, if they didn't they'd just burn the motor out!

So you don't have to put up with headaches from the roaring gas engine or smoke fumes to make you sick to the stomach on a cold morning. The battery pack also has a turn-around rate of ninety minutes, and this is the amount of time it takes to charge it up fully. The Bosch AKE 30 Li has three 2.6 Ah lithium batteries and comes with a charger. It is a competitive product, definitely able to deliver as much or more than asked of it.
